We visited and helped out a community today in St. Thomas. Many of the residents recently just received vaulted pit latrines. These toilets are outside in their yard and are miniature septic systems with hold the waste and prevents it from contaminating the water supply. The people are also awaiting a community water supply, which comes from one source and will be connected to each household. Currently water delivered individually to homes and is held in one giant container. The majority of the time was spent laying the base for a concrete pad in front of the community shelter.
Check out the pics.
