Interesting Pics from J-ca

To try and gain an understanding of how cramped the taxis in Jamaica are I took a pic of our ride home the other day. In the back of a mid 90's Toyota Corolla wagon were three adults each with a pikni (child) pan their lap - for a total of 6 people in the back seat. I was in the front passenger seat with our bags and the driver was luggage-less. A total of 8 people. Tiff regarded this as one of her more comfortable rides as there were only 3 adults, not the usual 4.

Monday was the start of school and our host mother's granddaughter's very first day of school. Tiff was exciting to see all the pikni dem (children) in their outfits.

I went around Mandeville and took some pics of interesting signs. The first is outside the courthouse - remember don't soil the building please. The second is by the hospital - and please watch what you wear.
