Turkey Day

I decided to surprise my family and fly home to Florida for Tanks-Giving. It was nice to have a hot shower and home cooking for five days. J's friend K picked me up from the airport so I would completely surprise my sister and mom. When I walked in the both of them just stared at me for a minute until they realized it wasn't an illusion. Since I came in on Thursday and my bro arrived on Friday we had to have two turkeys. Although I've been out of the states for 5 months it didn't really feel that odd until I was forced to break my 5 month streak of NOT driving. I suppose driving is like riding a bike you never forget how to do it. You do lose that 6th sense of driver feel and feedback, however. Perhaps it was weird being home because I didn't get that culture shock feeling. Maybe I need to be away for a longer period of time.

While home I took advantage to make some purchases. With so much rain leaving moisture in the air and little air circulation through our place our bath towels don't dry too easily. If you leave them in the bathroom to dry, they won't and they'll begin smell and get moldy. The same is true for any article of clothing or accessory that retains water including shoes, wallets and book bags. This problem has been more pronounced during the rainy season. In fact, this rainy season has been one of he worst ones in recent past. It's been so bad that the rain has done greater damage to the island that Hurricane Dean when it came through in September. The Jamaicans are even wigging out and they don't wig out for much. Hopefully my purchase of quick drying towels will help alleviate our troubles with bathing atleast.

Since we could not play ping pong, BZ (my bro) and I had to play a little ball. It brought back some childhood memories. We only played two games with each of us taking one game each. We were going to play a third, but time ran out - until next year some time.

Well that was nice. I did not know though, that you can play basketball in sandals. Tell BZ to market those, I am sure there are people in the NBA that would wear those. Anyway, Looks and sounds like you has a good holiday and that you probably needed a small vacation from Jamaica man. Have a good one, hopefully next time you aren in Florida, I am moved down.
