Stumpy's Tragic Death

His name was Stumpy. He ventured the house of Super Zed and his wife, Mrs. Zed in Porus. Super and the Misses enjoyed Stumpy, a one-armed lizard, and believed in his mission as he kept the flies and mosquitoes at bay. One day the Zed's decided to bring a cat, Lucy, into their abode. Senior White, as her previous owner called her, wasshy at first until she encountered the other pets of the household. The grasshoppers were no match for Lucy, but the lizards proved more elusive. One night while eating their dinnner and taking in an episode of The Office (American version), the Zed's noticed Lucy focused on Stumpy while he was preying on his own dinner. The Zed's had hoped that Stumpy would survive another night and not fall victim to Lucy as one of his colleagues did two weeks earlier. Unfortunately this would not be the case, as all of a sudden Lucy jumped up and grabbed Stumpy off the wall and dragged him to the corner. The Zed's looked on horrified as Stumpy was dying an excruciating long death as Lucy played with him as if he was a cat knip ball. There was nothing the Zed's could do except watch nature take its course - it was a cruel reminder of the brutal world they live in. Several minutes later, Lucy swallowed the last remains of Stumpy and then Zed and the misses held a moment of silence. He will live on forever in their memories.

We also just observed a moment of silence in Stumpy's honor. Maybe it would have been best if he came home with us in our bag as he so wanted to do.
