About 3 weeks ago our friends (from the states) came to see us in Jam Rock - our first visitors since we've been here. It was exciting especially to have them visit our place in P-town. We traveled quite a bit, actually too much, but we still had fun and ate well. We made it to YS Falls, a cool relaxing tourist spot in St. Elizabeth; and then made it to a good seafood restaurant in Manchester for some jerk shrimp. The next day we chartered a taxi out to Negril (for about $J7000 or $US100) where they spent the rest of their vacation at Couples resort. I hear that they have really good food and spirits.....mmm must try it some time.
Schlepping all over the island is a bit of drag, especially when you have guests. We're used to it, but I believe they enjoyed the experience or did not dislike it too much. At they very least they got to experience a taxi ride where the driver picked up a pregnant woman, who was in labor, and then carried her to the hospital. Of course along the way the driver had to stop and pick up his lunch at the yam park while the lady was moaning and having contractions. It's just too funny some time.
