At about the half way point we are home now for a couple of weeks going to a friends wedding and visiting family. In about a year I have lost 15 pounds and dropped a couple pant sizes and everyone is asking why. Being back in America for 5 days I have come to the conclusion it is because I don't sweat here. With the exception of the couple times I have worked out I have not sweat. On the other hand in Jamaica, I sweat everywhere. Whether it's in the taxi, washing clothes, sitting in my living room, sleeping, or walking to work, I am sweating. In the U.S., we go from our air conditioned homes to our air conditioned cars to our air conditioned stores and work places. Bottom line, I burn more calories in Jamaica. Of course my diet is different in America, consuming more processed foods and red meat. It's not that we don't have these types of food in Jamaica, it's just that they are a higher percentage of our budget and we tend to make more food from scratch.
