b/c of the elections and today being nomination day (i.e., the day that candidates go to nominate themselves for the election) PC wants us to be idle and not leave our communities
Yesterday, Jamaican Independence Day, we went to the Denbigh agricultural festival outside May Pen. It was a reminder of the Geauga county fair back home in Ohio. A lot of (unhealthy) food and livestock. Our pictures will soon kom.
We have less than 3 weeks before we are finished with training and will be sworn-in as full fledged Peace Corps volunteers. Of the 59 that boarded the plane for Jamaica 7 of us have gone home already. Quite the attrition rate - over the typical 10%.
