Lover's Leap
One World Health Day we went to watch competing high schools debate on the topic of Climate Change. The debate took place the night before and the next morning a group of us went for a hike in Lover's Leap in St. Elizabeth. The story behind Lover's Leap is that two slaves fell in love and because their owners didn't want them to be together they took a leap off the cliff to die together. It's not much of a cliff, but nonetheless.
In the pictures above you can see the interesting toilet at the hotel room we stayed in and the only wind farm in Jamaica. The farm has 23 turbines that produce 900 kw of energy for a total of 20.7 megawatts of energy going back to the grid.
