You want what?
Our rastafarian (rasta) neighbor is a bit crazy to say the least. He tends to have issues with the neighbors and the neighborhood pikni (children) that harass him. Indeed, he has at least one shouting match per week with his neighbors on the opposite side of him. We've been told he does not have a proper working toilet; and therefore, does his business, puts it in a scandal (plastic) bag and tosses on their side of the wall separating the two yards. Yes, you heard me. He, as Jamaicans would call it, performs the "helicopter" with his shit. He is not sane and I have become convinced that he is schizophrenic. We often see him talking to himself as well. This is further complicated by the fact he smokes enormous amounts of ganja (pot, marijuana, etc.) and there is no psychiatric help for him. For the first 9 of the 11 months we have lived next to him he has been nice to us and saying hello to us as we walk by. But recently in the last two months he has started to curse us for no apparent reason. We'll just be sitting in the house minding our own business and he'll start calling me a "batty boy" (homosexual), and "dutty boy" (unruly person) just to name a few. He even called our host mother out and went up to her in the market and cursed her out. What's strange is that we'll walk by him and he'll still say hello and be courteous to us; and then curse us out the next morning. Now on Sunday I was sitting on the front porch reading and he called me over to beg me for $500J (Jamaican dollars). "Uhh, no, mi av no money fi u" (Translation - I have no money for you). I still can't make rhyme or reason out of it.
